I LOVE Utah

I have spent 37 years of my life in Utah and I love it here, snow or no snow(would be better). Utah IS the place for me! Spring and Summer are Glorious. Here's a poem to go along with some of the winter weather in Utah. (I didn't write it)

Winter Poem
It's winter in Utah
And the gentle breezes blow
Sevently miles an hour
At 35 below.

Oh, how I love Utah
When the snow's up your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wondrful
so I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Utah
Cuz I'm frozen to the ground.

my mother

My mother is very dear to me. It's times like now that frustrate me. I feel so useless to her. Sheila, my sister, just called and told me she was in the hospital. She's been there since yesterday. Her bp was very high and she had indigestion. Her heart is fine, but doctors think she may have acid reflux. I called her and she is doing better. Wish I was there to help out. My mom turned 80 on Thanksgiving this year and I'm realizing more and more she just might not be around for many years like she has. She's always there for me. She's been a wonderful example all my life especially in serving others. I love you mom!

Christmas decorations

2 days after Christmas and I am really relieved I don't have to take many decorations down this year. No lights strung outside to put away. All I have is the tree and I'll take it down on New Years Day. Earlier today we had our bankruptcy hearing and well, we really don't know any more than we knew before. I'll be glad when the next 2 to 4 weeks come. Looking forward to starting the new year off in a new way you might say. Change is hard, but change can mean a new start and more things to look forward to. Despite our fanancial challenges these past couple of years, we have been blessed from Heavenly Father through others. Grateful!

J O Y

J is for Jesus Christ...
O is for Others...
Y is for You
My sister gave our family a Christmas treasure. She sent a gift and wrote a poem. I love my sister. She is very talented.

Christmas has come and gone for 2010. Curtis (hot sauce) guessed everything he was getting except for one, a coat. I guessed what Andy got me, a new comforter set for our bed. Mike(the sauce) liked his gift, a picture of the Salt Lake Temple in construction in 1892. Matthew(crazy sauce) was way excited. Santa brought him everything he asked for. Nick(mild sauce) was glad for a camera but sad he couldn't eat any goodies. He'll be so happy when this diet is over and hopefully he can slowly get back to eating the things he's allergic to. Nate(little sauce) asked for a Woody Doll and got it. He seemed to be content. Grandma Foy gave our family and J's(Hindes 57 sauce) a jar labeled Christmas 2011 and in that jar we are to put our spare change. When Christmas comes around we are to take the money and spend it on a needy family. What a wonderful idea. Grandpa Hindes called today and asked me if I was sad knowing this was the last Christmas we'd be spending in our house. To tell you the truth, I hadn't even thought of it. When he asked Andy, Andy told him not really, it's just stuff. What's important is our family we'll still be together.

Well here I am, hoping to make this blog into something memorable. Christmas Eve is tomorrow. I am so glad it's going to be a White Christmas. By the way, Bing Crosby's version is the best and it has outsold any other Christmas song ever to date. Looking forward to spending time with my family especially my little grandchildren, Jarrett and Jax. Matthew, my youngest son is 9 and as far as I know is looking forward to Santa coming and leaving presents. I wonder how early he'll be waking up. I remember Curtis waking us up one year at 2:00 a.m. You don't think he was excited now, do you? Mike has been gone for 2 years and it'll be wonderful to have him here. So here's the start of something wonderful...our blog from the sauces- HIndes Sauce.
